DUO MENU LAUNCHED

Happy New Year!

So here we are in 2013!  Let me wish everyone a happy, healthy, successful year!

I thought I’d start the year with a little story….

When we took over Pig’Halle in 2011 Herve had this vision… this dream of going back to his youth, baking bread, experimenting in the kitchen, serving up bruschetta and munching on plates of antipasti and patanegra.  I could hear him, muttering! “I want to do charcuterie, I want a boulangerie.”   “We’re too busy” I said.

And then this year Max set off for Uni in Bath and Roxanne headed for France…  I knew  it was going to happen – there is no stopping my husband when he has an idea in his head!  As soon as he started tempting me with menus and chat that was it… I was in on the crazy man’s vision! At that point it very quickly developed into a full-blown Mediterranean Restaurant and DUO was born.  We were on for opening Perth Restaurant number 5!

I should say here that we’ve always felt extremely fortunate with our business ventures in Perth.  Making the decision to bow down and hand the reins over was never going to be easy… But we’re thrilled to see both Julian and David, who have bought over Sante and Breizh respectively, are continuing to go from strength to strength, making their own mark as they do.  We will always wish them every success and good fortune.  

When would we open this new restaurant then… Well a fresh start is always good in a New Year! So here we are!  Pig’Halle staff are having a much deserved break and while the painters, joiners and electricians complete DUO  we’re using the main Pig’Halle Brasserie to trial the menu! Today is  day two and I can tell you, it’s already a hit!

Serving up homemade Mediterranean dishes this is simple easy to eat food that we know you’re going to love. Think wood burning oven baked pizzas, homemade pastas from scratch, sauces created with the best quality ingredients and creamy, homely risottos.

 

We have, of course, given Herve’s homemade bread pride of place – eat it plain with butter or as the base of a mouth-watering selection of bruschetta; there are big delicious salads, platters of Iberico Ham and antipasti along with all the favourite starters and mains of the region.  He’s even prised my mother-in-law’s Pain Perdu recipe from her – I can highly recommend it!  Roxanne made sure her favourite salmon and pesto pizza was featured before heading off for France, which, of course, prompted Max to insist on his Meat Feast being served!   Even from a distance these children rule the roost!

COME AND TRY IT! 

WHEN:    From Tuesday 8th January to 17th January – 12noon – 3pm / 5.30pm to 10pm.
From 17th January – 9am – 10pm daily.

WHERE:  In the main Pig’Halle Restaurant for 10 days only!
From 17th of January we will be fully moved in to Duo, just through the wall with an entrance on Princes Street!

WHY:        Everyone deserves a January treat!  Either bin the diet or order salad! Me, I’m eating it all – I’ve just had to up the gym sessions!

So there you have it – DUO is now our new baby and we can’t wait to show it off! Do pop in and see us this week to try the new menu – I promise you will love it!
